Mom and daughter

Valerie Moeller held up a piece of decorative framed art, proudly showing it to her daughter.

Megan Moeller, standing in her new classroom at Rose Shaw Elementary School, she smiled as her mom revealed the décor she had picked out for both of their classrooms. The mother-daughter duo shared laughs and swapped ideas as they decorated each other’s classrooms ahead of the 2025–2026 school year. Megan will be teaching 3rd grade, while Valerie, a veteran teacher, will teach 4th grade.

“We’re thrilled to have the dynamic Moeller duo in our classrooms,” said Christine Bernal, Principal of Shaw Elementary School. “Miss Moeller began by volunteering and substituting, eventually discovering her passion for teaching. Mrs. Moeller has been a dedicated educator in many roles, and together, they bring heart, commitment, and excellence to Shaw.”

Valerie is entering her 20th year with CCISD, as Megan begins her first year as an Associate Teacher.

“I grew up around educators. I would come and help out, and I love working with kids. It’s very rewarding,” Megan said. “I don’t think I would have wanted to become a teacher if it hadn’t been for my mom.”
